I'm an utterly unrepentant atheist and likely to remain so even now, but I'm familiar with the story. And unless there's something no one in my immediate family bothered to tell me- which, honestly, wouldn't be surprising- I'm an only child.

Aside from that particular revelation, I'm fine. I've just trying to keep myself occupied, lest this city drive me insane. I'm sure you know as well as I do how that goes.

I'm not saying I have faith, not in God, per se. But the pattern fits, and whether it's someone manipulating the Rift, something from another universe, some form of technology we're not yet familiar with... I really don't see how it matters, unless we can work out a way to stop it.

And there's the rub. I've yet to see someone work out a way to stop anything the Rift's managed to deal out on its own terms, but I admit to being a cynic at heart.

I'm not afraid of him. I daresay, the Kashtta is probably the safest place right now.
